Social Impact Campaign: "Look Up – The Moments You’re Missing"

Wat is het idee?

My name is Karla and I am currently doing a semester abroad in The Hague while studying Marketing & Social Impact. As part of my program, I’ve developed a campaign called “Look Up – The Moments You’re Missing”, which raises awareness about how smartphones distract us from real-life moments and human connection.

The campaign includes two short video clips:

Clip 1: The Sunset Moment
People are filming a beautiful sunset at the beach instead of actually enjoying it. I appear with a sign that says: “Enjoy it now – not later on your phone.” The spontaneous reactions of the people around me are captured on video.

Clip 2: Café Scene
People are sitting together in a café but everyone is on their phones. I approach and ask them: “Who’s more important right now – your phone or the person next to you?”

This campaign encourages mindfulness, digital well-being, and deeper human interaction – all of which are important topics for mental and social health. I believe it fits well with Zilveren Kruis’s values and your efforts to promote healthier lifestyles and awareness around mental health.

I would love to explore whether Zilveren Kruis would be interested in supporting or sharing this campaign (e.g. via social media or community initiatives), so we can reach more people and inspire them to reflect on their own behavior.

If you are interested, I’d be happy to share the video clips.
